General Information

The School believes in the growth of the individual personality. Pupils are therefore, expected to adhere to the following rules through self-awareness, self-help, self-control and self-assessment as the school eschews corporal punishment.

Rules

  • Punctuality at all prayer meetings, Assembly and Class periods is mandatory.
  • Disciplined movement, from class to class, to library, to laboratories, to playground etc., is very essential.
  • Respect for all members of the school should be an inherent duty of the pupil.
  • It is compulsory for every pupil to come to school in full, proper uniform. They should be clean and tidy.
  • Any party or get-together among students will be permitted to the pupils only with the prior approval of the principal.

Leave Rules

  • Leave should be applied for, in writing only under inevitable circumstances with the approval of the parent / guardian.
  • Long leave of absence on medicals grounds will be granted only on the production of valid medical certificate.
  • Irregular attendance and leave without proper reason(s) will lead to the detention of the pupil in the same class.
  • Leave should be applied for, prior to the availing of it.

Primary and KG Sections

  • The Primary School consists of the Kindergarten and the Primary classes from I to V.
  • The KG section introduces the child to a meaningful world of pleasant experiences providing him / her with opportunities to master motor, physical, academic and social skills.
  • The learning of different subjects takes place interactively through learning by doing, initiated through lively discussions, projects, worksheets, excursions, hobby classes and winter camps.
  • Physical Education is an integral part of the curriculum. Specific Physical Training and games periods provide the children with ample opportunities for sports and organized games. Annual Sports and P.T displays are spectacular and colourful, especially at the kindergarten level.
  • Nature Education and NCC is given special emphasis and is an integral part of the curriculum. This ensures inculcation of the right values in the growing child.
  • Exclusive Computer Laboratories for the primary children of Standard I to V are available for computer studies.
  • Parent Orientation programme is held at the beginning of each academic year, bringing together parents and teachers to provide maximum input to the child.
  • Concerts and excursions are also a part of the curriculum.

Social Activism

As we educate our students to be aware of social issues, we motivate them towards their social responsibility to their immediate community and encourage them to think beyond the narrow
confines and reach out to connect compassionately with all, with genuine humaneness.

Marathon

A mini Marathon was conducted for the students and general public – “Run for the Tiger”

Cyclathon 5.5.2017

Cyclathaon was conducted from Udumalpet to Chennai.

Eco Restoration – Plastic Cleanup Campaign

Eco Restoration in chinnar –Munnar highway on 7.7.2017 to 20.7.2017 . To improve the quality of the Natural environment and to remove the plastic bags and bottles along the highway.

Community Service

Our students have taken up the responsibility of planting saplings and maintaining them as a community Project.

Recycling and Refining

e-waste management : Students of Our School were guided to collect the e-waste from surroundings in the town. –Weighed 1 Ton. It was exhibited by our school hall which gives a great threat to the environment.

Guardian of the Environment

Environmental consciousness is cultivated from the early years and is an ongoing campaign. As a result of this, the school has implemented water harvesting, paper recycling, converting biodegradable waste to manure and is no poly bag territory. Our students are instructed in carrying out these activities at school to imprint in them the significance of a conserving the environment for the future generation.

Bird bath and Bird Nest Box

Bird Bath and Bird nest Box has been placed and maintained in our school for the birds to quench their thirst and to regenerate the fast disappearing sparrow. Students are also initiated to undertake the same at home.

Seed Balls 15.9.2017

Volunteers of Our School were involved in preparing seed balls to ensure a clean environment for the future generation.

MIYAWAKI Forest

It is a unique method to recreate a 100 year old forest in 30 years to insist on the afforestation drive.

Wildlife Census and Bird Census

Every year Volunteers of RGHMSS assist the forest department during wild life census and bird census.
